An excellent little book
By Patricia O'Shea
I’ve been teaching second language learners for many years and would agree with many of the ideas in this book, especially for those heading overseas. In fact I passed it along to my daughter who has just started her English teaching career in Korea. A good reminder of some basic concepts for experienced teachers like myself too. The conversational tone with which the book is written makes it an enjoyable read too, as opposed to a stuffy academic voice. Well worth it!

First Aid for ESL Teachers!
By Debra Crary
I wish I had a book like this when I started my teaching career as it provides a nice overview on what I was getting myself into. And as a new teacher coming up with new ideas is always a struggle, so having 25 teaching activities that can be applied to different themes and lessons makes this book quite helpful. I’ve been teaching for many years and I still found new activities I’d never used before. Definitely recommend this book.

There are two things I really enjoyed about this book
By Mrs C Howorth
There are two things I really enjoyed about this book. One is the 25 activities in this book that are practical and can be applied to many different scenarios. The second thing I enjoyed is the casual tone the author uses in this book. With a little bit of dry humor, it keeps the pace moving and makes for an enjoyable read. I think it’s a great snapshot for new teachers of what to expect in the new world of teaching.
