A key tool in the CCIE DC written tool box

I have now read through two of Paul Adam's study guides: the R & S and DC guides. Like the R & S guide, the DC written fills a key gap in the official Cisco Press material. Paul's guide is focused on key topics likely to be found on the test and written in the order of the blueprint. It is very concise, which makes for efficient identification of strengths and weaknesses. Pay particular attention to the tables and exams essentials sections. They are treasure troves of useful information.
Make no mistake. This is not a lengthy tome on the many facets of Data Center operations. There are plenty of 1000 page volumes for that. What I found refreshing was the Paul's ability to boil down this vast array of knowledge into key paragraphs and tables that might actually get you over the hurdle of passing the test. It is too easy to loose one's way and get distracted by topics not relevant to the blueprint. This book acts as a great study plan to help there.
The last bit that bumped this review from four stars to five was the great customer service of the CCIE in 8 Weeks team. When I wrote with questions or wanted clarification on a topic, they were fantastic at getting back to me promptly. That was a nice extra to know you are not just getting a study guide but also a lot of accessible expertise behind it.

I really like the way this study guide was written

I really like the way this study guide was written, and the way the content is laid out. The content in this study guide is in line with the exam objectives posted by Cisco. The exam objective is the main heading, and then the content and explanation follows underneath.
At the end of each section, there is a section titled "Exam Essentials" that highlights the major points that are important to remember for that particular area of study. This is very helpful as well.
I would use this study guide as a complement to additional study materials or other books that may be required reading. This was nicely done and I would use other study guides from this company and/or author.

A reprise of existing material, but why not

I started reading and discovered it was copied and pasted from other sources. I guess the upside is he brought the sources together so one doesn't have to google all the sources oneself. That convenience is why I give it three stars.
